All your domains in one place
In shortSettings → Domains shows every domain across all your apps — the ones you bought through MonstarX, with their expiry date, renewal price and a Renew button, and the ones you own elsewhere and connected, with their status. Bought domains do not renew on their own; MonstarX emails you 45, 30 and 5 days before one expires.
A domain is your app’s own web address, like brewandbean.com. You buy or connect a domain inside the project that uses it. SettingsDomains brings all of them together, across every app, so you can see at a glance what expires when.
What does the Domains page show?
Section titled “What does the Domains page show?”Domains you bought
Section titled “Domains you bought”Every domain bought through MonstarX, soonest to expire first. MonstarX looks after their DNS and HTTPS certificates for you. For each one you see:
- The domain and the app it points at (or Not pointed at an app)
- When it expires and what it costs to renew for a year
- How long is left until it expires — Renews in 120 days, Renew within 20 days (amber, from 30 days out) or Expired 3 days ago (red). Despite the wording, nothing renews by itself: you renew with the button.
- Being registered while a new purchase is still going through, or Setup needs attention if its setup did not finish
Each domain has a button: Renew when it expires within 30 days or has expired, Manage otherwise. Both open the domain in its project’s Domains window, with the renewal ready. A domain that is not pointed at an app says Attach it from a project instead — open the project you want and use Use for this app there.
Domains you connected
Section titled “Domains you connected”Domains you own somewhere else and pointed at a published app with a CNAME record. Each shows its app and its state: Live, Setting up (waiting for DNS or the HTTPS certificate) or Needs attention. They renew wherever you bought them, not in MonstarX. To fix one, see Connect a domain you own.
What you paid
Section titled “What you paid”Once you have bought or renewed a domain, What you paid lists every registration and renewal with its date and price. The same payments are in Billing.
How do I renew a domain?
Section titled “How do I renew a domain?”Bought domains do not renew on their own. Renew before the expiry date to keep your app on its address.
-
Open SettingsDomains.
-
Click Renew (or Manage) next to the domain. Its project opens on the Domains window with the renewal ready.
-
Check the price and pay on Stripe’s secure checkout.
The year is added on top of the current expiry date as soon as the payment goes through — so renewing early never costs you time. If the registrar cannot renew it, the payment is refunded in full. You can also renew from inside the project (PublishYour domains & DNS, then Renew) or straight from a reminder email.
Will MonstarX remind me?
Section titled “Will MonstarX remind me?”Yes. MonstarX emails you 45, 30 and 5 days before a bought domain expires, each more urgent than the last, with a button that opens the renewal. See Emails from MonstarX.
How do I buy or connect a domain?
Section titled “How do I buy or connect a domain?”Inside the project that will use it, under Publish → Domains. The Open a project to buy one button on this page takes you to your projects.
- Buy a domain — search, pay, and MonstarX sets everything up.
- Connect a domain you own — point a domain from another registrar at your app.
Frequently asked questions
Section titled “Frequently asked questions”Do domains renew automatically?
No. Domains bought through MonstarX do not renew on their own. MonstarX emails you 45, 30 and 5 days before one expires, and Renew on Settings → Domains renews it for a year.
How much does renewing a domain cost?
The renewal price is shown next to each domain on Settings → Domains, per year. It depends on the domain's ending (.com, .app and so on). Tax is added at checkout where it applies.
Can I renew for more than a year?
Each renewal adds one year. Renew again to add another — there is no need to wait for the expiry date.
What happens to my domain if I delete the app or my account?
It stays registered until it expires. If you delete the app, it shows under Your domains not used by an app in any other project, where Use for this app points it there. If you delete your account, it points at nothing and is not renewed.
What happens to a domain when I transfer the app?
Domains bought for the app move to the new owner with it. See Transfer a project.
A domain says "Setup needs attention".
Its setup did not finish. Open its app, go to Publish → Domains and press Finish setup.
