Use Workday with MonstarX

In shortConnect Workday in Backend → Cloud by signing in to your company's Workday. MonstarX's builder can then list workers and read a worker's record, in any mode. It only reads — it never changes Workday — and your app never gets the connection.

Workday is software large companies use for HR — their people, jobs and teams. Connect it to a project and MonstarX’s builder — the AI you chat with — can look up workers while it works: shape an internal staff directory or onboarding app around the fields your company really keeps, or check a team’s structure.

This is a business tool: MonstarX reads Workday for you. The app you build never gets the connection.

Everything is read-only and works in any mode.

What MonstarX can do
List workers — up to 100 at a time, page by page
Read one worker — the details Workday shares for that person

What it never does: hire, change, move or terminate workers, change pay or time off, or write anything to Workday.

  • A Workday account at your company, with permission to see workers.
  • Workday access for outside apps is registered inside each company’s Workday by its administrator. Check with your Workday administrator that MonstarX is allowed.
  • You own the MonstarX project. Only the owner can connect or disconnect a tool.

There are no keys to copy. You sign in to your company’s Workday and allow MonstarX. What MonstarX may see is set by your Workday administrator and your own Workday permissions — MonstarX’s builder only lists and reads workers.

  1. Open your project and click Backend in the top bar, then Cloud.

  2. Scroll to Connectors and find Workday.

  3. Click Connect. Workday opens. Sign in and allow MonstarX.

  4. You come back to your project. The row now says Connected to and your company’s Workday address.

You typeWhat happens
“Look at a few Workday workers and build a staff directory with the same fields.”MonstarX reads a page of workers and builds the directory to match.
“Which details does Workday keep about a worker? Plan an onboarding checklist around them.”It reads a worker record and proposes a plan.
  • Stays with MonstarX. Your Workday sign-in is stored encrypted on MonstarX’s servers. It is never written into your app’s code or given to your app.
  • One project. The connection works only in the project where you made it.
  • Confidential and read as information. MonstarX treats worker records as confidential information, never as instructions.
  • Disconnect any time. Click Disconnect beside Workday in BackendCloud and confirm. MonstarX forgets the sign-in straight away. Your Workday administrator can also revoke MonstarX’s access in Workday.
Can MonstarX change anything in Workday?

No. The Workday connection is read-only: it lists workers and reads one worker's record.

Can my app show live Workday data?

Not through this connection — it is for MonstarX's builder only. An app that reads Workday needs its own access, set up with your Workday administrator.

Why can't I connect my company's Workday?

If the row says Coming soon, the connector is not switched on for MonstarX yet. Otherwise, check with your Workday administrator that MonstarX is allowed in your Workday.
