Google Docs is Google’s word processor. Connect it to a project and MonstarX’s builder — the AI you chat with — can read the documents you already keep there: build from the brief in your “App spec” doc, use the copy your team wrote, or write release notes into a new document when you ask.

This is a business tool: MonstarX uses your documents for you. The app you build never gets your Google account.

What MonstarX can doWhen
Find documents — list the Google Docs in your Drive by name, with their links and when they last changedAny mode
Read a document, including every tab in itAny mode
Create a blank document with a title you giveOnly in Build mode, when you asked
Edit a document — add or replace text, headings and formattingOnly in Build mode, when you asked

What it never does: delete a document, move it to the bin, or change who it is shared with. It does not open other kinds of files in your Drive.

  • A Google account with Google Docs.
  • You own the MonstarX project. Only the owner can connect or disconnect a tool.
  • If your company uses Google Workspace, your admin may have to allow MonstarX before you can sign in.

There are no keys to copy. You sign in with Google, and Google asks you to allow:

  • See, edit and create your Google Docs documents — used to read documents and, when you ask, to create or edit one.
  • See information about your Google Drive files — names and dates only, not their contents. Used to find your documents by name.

Google also shares your name and email address, so MonstarX can show which account is connected.

  1. Open your project and click Backend in the top bar, then Cloud.

  2. Scroll to Connectors and find Google Docs.

  3. Click Connect. Google opens. Choose your account, check what MonstarX asks for, and allow it.

  4. You come back to your project. The row now says Connected as and your Google email.

You typeWhat happens
“Read my ‘Studio app brief’ doc and build what it describes.”MonstarX finds the document, reads it and builds from it.
“Use the wording in the ‘Homepage copy’ doc for the landing page.”It reads the doc and puts that text on the page.
“Create a doc called ‘Release notes — booking app’ and write down what changed today.”In Build mode, it creates the document and writes the notes into it.
  • Stays with MonstarX. Your Google sign-in is stored encrypted on MonstarX’s servers. It is never written into your app’s code or given to your app.
  • One project. The connection works only in the project where you made it.
  • Read as information. MonstarX treats what a document says as information, never as instructions to follow.
  • Disconnect any time. Click Disconnect beside Google Docs in BackendCloud and confirm. MonstarX forgets the sign-in and tells Google to cancel its access.
  • Edits are real and show in the document straight away. Google Docs keeps a version history (File → Version history) if you want to go back.
  • To point MonstarX at one document, paste its link — the document’s ID is in it.
  • Each Google tool connects on its own. Connecting Docs does not connect Sheets or Slides.
  • Have a Word file or PDF rather than a Google Doc? Attach it to your message instead — see Build from documents.
Can MonstarX delete my documents?

No. It can create a document and edit one when you ask, in Build mode. It cannot delete or share documents.

Can it read every file in my Google Drive?

No. It can see the names of your Drive files so it can find documents, and it can open Google Docs documents. It does not open other files.

Do I need this to build from a spec?

No. You can also attach the document to your message. Connecting Google Docs helps when the spec lives in Docs and keeps changing.

How do I remove MonstarX from my Google account?

Click Disconnect in Backend → Cloud. MonstarX also cancels its access with Google.
