The Projects page

In shortProjects is your home in MonstarX. The prompt box at the top starts a new app. Below it, every project you own or that was shared with you is a card with a picture of the app. Search with the / key, filter by whose it is, its status and the services it uses, sort it, switch to a list, and use a card's ⋯ menu to open, rename, duplicate, refresh its picture, open its settings, delete it or leave it.

Projects is your home in MonstarX: it is the first page you see after you sign in, and where the MonstarX logo always takes you. At the top you start new apps; below, you find and manage the ones you have.

The box at the top — What are we building next? — is where every new project begins. Every New project button in MonstarX brings you back to it.

  1. Describe your app in the box, or click one of the starter ideas under it — Client portal, Booking site, Internal tool, AI assistant or Marketplace app — to fill it in. The idea is only filled in, never sent, so you can change it first.

  2. Choose any options you want (all optional).

  3. Press Build it or Enter. MonstarX creates the project, starts building it and opens it.

What the buttons in the box do:

ButtonWhat it does
The paperclipAttach pictures, documents (an RFP, a spec, PDF, Word, slides, a zip) or a spreadsheet. You can also paste or drop them in. See Attach files.
ImportBring in something you already have: an app from GitHub, Lovable or A .zip, a Figma design, a public Website, a Spreadsheet, or an app from Your agent. See Import an app.
Shortcuts beside ImportTwo of the Import choices also sit beside it for one click, such as Figma and Your agent. Which two you see changes each time you visit.
Plan firstMonstarX asks a few questions before it builds. The button then says Plan it. See Plan first.
Design firstSee a few finished-looking first screens and pick the look before the build. See Design first.
Auto (the model)Choose the AI model and its effort for this project, or leave it on Auto. See Choose a model.
Microphone (the box’s top-right corner)Voice typing: talk and your words appear as you speak, in English or Japanese. Also ⌘⇧Space / Ctrl+Shift+Space. See Voice typing.
Auto Enhance with AIAppears in the box when you pause typing. Rewrites your idea into a clear, detailed request; Undo puts back what you wrote. See Auto Enhance.

Yes. The first time you open Projects, a short guided tour, Your guide to MonstarX, walks you round the page. Each step dims the page, lights up one part of it and explains it in a card:

  1. Your idea has a place to grow — a welcome.
  2. Start with a sentence — the prompt box.
  3. Bring what you already have — Import.
  4. Think it through first — Plan first.
  5. Choose the look — Design first (when it is available).
  6. Everything you make lives here — Your projects.
  • Next and Back move between the steps; on the last one, Start creating closes the tour.
  • To leave early, click Skip tour, the × (Close tour) or press Esc. Nothing is changed on the page.
  • MonstarX remembers in this browser that you have seen it, so it does not come back by itself.
  • To see it again, click Take a tour at the top right, above the prompt box.

The workspace has its own tour the first time you open a project. See Tour of the workspace.

Each project is a card with:

  • A picture of the app, taken automatically once it has been built. Before that, a sketch in the project’s colour says why there is no picture yet: Building…, Nothing built yet or No picture yet.
  • A badge on the picture: Building while MonstarX works on it, or Live once it is published.
  • Its name and what it is built with, such as “TanStack Start · React · TypeScript”.
  • A short description. MonstarX writes the name and description for you after the first build, unless you typed your own.
  • When it was last edited and created, and small icons for the MonstarX Cloud services it uses — database, accounts, AI, email, file storage.

Click a card to open the project. If you have many projects, Load more at the bottom shows the rest.

A project someone else shared with you shows Shared and “By” its owner’s name. If they gave you edit access, it says Can edit. You see it here alongside your own projects. See Share and comment.

Click the search box — or press / anywhere on the page — and type. MonstarX searches project names, descriptions, what they are built with, their status and their owner. Every word you type must match. Press the × to clear it.

  • All, Mine and Shared (with counts) choose whose projects you see: everything, only yours, or only those shared with you.
  • Filter narrows by Status — Building, Published, Not published, Not built yet — and by what the app Uses: Database, Accounts, AI, Email, File storage or Firebase. Each shows how many projects match.

Active filters show as chips under the search box, such as Uses Database. Click a chip’s × to remove it, or Clear all.

The sort button orders the projects by Last edited (the default), Newest first, Oldest first or Name A–Z.

Yes. The two buttons at the right of the toolbar switch between Cards and List. The list shows a small picture, the name and description, what it is built with, its status, and when it was created and edited — click a column heading such as Edited to sort by it. MonstarX remembers your choice in this browser.

Click ⋯ on a card to act on a project without opening it.

ActionWhat it does
OpenOpens the project’s workspace.
Open in new tabOpens it in a new browser tab.
Visit published appOpens the live app. Only shown once the app is published.
RenameChanges the project’s name and the short description on its card. The published app’s address does not change.
DuplicateMakes a copy of the project to try a different direction. See below.
Refresh pictureTakes a new picture of the app for its card. Available once the app has been built.
Project settingsOpens the project’s settings, the same as Settings inside the project. See Project settings.
DeleteDeletes the project for good. See below.
Leave projectFor a project shared with you: removes it from your projects. Only shown on shared projects, in place of the owner’s actions.

The copy — called “Copy of” and the original’s name — gets the app’s files and packages, its model and effort, its settings and its picture. It does not get the chat, the versions, the secrets, the app’s data, the published app or the people it is shared with. It is a fresh start from the same code.

The code, the chat, every version and the app’s own data and files are deleted for good. If the app is published, it goes offline too — and to make sure, MonstarX asks you to type the project’s name before it deletes a published app. You cannot delete a project while it is building.

What happens when I leave a shared project?

Section titled “What happens when I leave a shared project?”

It disappears from your projects, and you lose access. The owner would have to invite you again for you to see it.

Why does my project have no picture?

MonstarX takes the picture once the app has been built and its preview shows a page. Until then the card shows a sketch that says why. If a picture looks out of date, choose Refresh picture from the card's ⋯ menu.

Can I change the name MonstarX gave my project?

Yes. Choose Rename from the card's ⋯ menu, or click the name at the top of the project. MonstarX never overwrites a name you typed.

Does renaming a project change its web address?

No. The published app keeps its address. You can change the address in Settings → Address & domains. See Your app's address.

How do I get to the Projects page from a project?

Click ‹ or the MonstarX logo at the top left of the project.

How do I see the guided tour again?

Click Take a tour at the top right of the Projects page, above the prompt box.

Can I undo deleting a project?

No. Deleting removes the code, chat, versions, data and files for good.
