Use Xero with MonstarX

In shortConnect Xero in Backend → Cloud by signing in and choosing your organisations. MonstarX's builder can then list your organisations and read contacts in any mode, and create or update a contact when you ask in Build mode. It never sees invoices or bank data, and your app never gets your Xero account.

Xero is accounting software for small businesses. In Xero, contacts are the customers and suppliers you invoice and pay. Connect Xero to a project and MonstarX’s builder — the AI you chat with — can work with those contacts: build a client portal around your real customer list, check a supplier’s details, or add a new customer when you ask.

This is a business tool: MonstarX uses your Xero for you. The app you build never gets your Xero account.

MonstarX uses your first organisation unless you name another one.

What it never does: see or create invoices, bills, payments, bank transactions or reports. Contacts are the only part of Xero it can reach.

  • A Xero account with at least one organisation.
  • Your Xero user can see and edit contacts.
  • You own the MonstarX project. Only the owner can connect or disconnect a tool.

There are no keys to copy. You sign in to Xero, choose which organisations to share, and Xero asks you to allow MonstarX to:

  • View and manage your contacts — to read them and, when you ask, to create or update one.
  • Keep access — so the connection keeps working without you signing in again.
  1. Open your project and click Backend in the top bar, then Cloud.

  2. Scroll to Connectors and find Xero.

  3. Click Connect. Xero opens. Sign in, pick the organisations MonstarX may use, and click Allow access.

  4. You come back to your project. The row now says Connected to and your first organisation’s name.

You typeWhat happens
“Read my Xero contacts and build a client portal login page that lists the same companies.”MonstarX reads your contacts and builds from them.
“Is Bloom Florist’s email address in Xero up to date? Show me what you have.”It finds and reads the contact. Nothing changes.
“Add a Xero contact for Sunrise Pilates, alex@example.com.”In Build mode, it creates the contact in your first organisation.
  • Stays with MonstarX. Your Xero sign-in is stored encrypted on MonstarX’s servers. It is never written into your app’s code or given to your app.
  • One project. The connection works only in the project where you made it.
  • Read as information. MonstarX treats what is in a contact as information, never as instructions.
  • Disconnect any time. Click Disconnect beside Xero in BackendCloud and confirm. MonstarX forgets the sign-in and removes its connection to each organisation in Xero.
Can MonstarX see my invoices or bank balance?

No. MonstarX asks Xero only for contacts.

I have several Xero organisations. Which one does it use?

The ones you tick when you sign in. It uses the first unless you name another in your message.

Can MonstarX delete a contact?

No. It can create and update contacts when you ask, in Build mode.
