Glossary

In shortA plain-English dictionary of MonstarX. Each term — Auto, Boost, Build mode, Clip, credits, Edit mode, feature plan, MonstarX Cloud, preview, publish, queue, version, workspace and many more — has a short explanation and a link to its page.

The words MonstarX uses, in plain English, from A to Z. Each entry links to the page that explains it in full.

Activity line — A one-line summary of what MonstarX did during part of a build, such as “Created 4 files · read 2 files”. Click it to see every step. See Follow a build.

Address bar — The box above the preview that shows which page of your app you are on. Click it for a list of every page. See The preview.

Admin (tab) — Your app’s admin panel inside MonstarX: the people who signed up, and your app’s data in simple forms you can edit. Changes are live at once, with no build. Only the project’s owner sees it. See The Admin panel.

Admin Studio — Studio in the Admin tab’s sidebar, where you make your own saved views, forms and dashboards from your app’s data. See What is Admin Studio?

API & MCP — The settings page where you connect coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor to MonstarX and make API keys. See API & MCP.

Ask Luna — MonstarX’s helper, in the bottom-right corner of every page once you are signed in (you can drag it anywhere). It answers questions about MonstarX, can take you to the right place, and does not use your credits. See Ask Luna.

Attach — Add pictures, documents or spreadsheets to a request with the paperclip, or by pasting or dropping them: up to 10 files per message. See Attach files.

Auto (model) — The default model choice: MonstarX picks a suitable AI model and effort for each request and shows its choice on the reply. See Choose a model.

Auto Enhance with AI — Offered in the prompt box on Projects when you pause typing. It rewrites a rough idea into a clear, detailed request; Undo puts back what you wrote. See Auto Enhance.

Auto fix — A QA setting: when a test fails, MonstarX fixes the problem and tests again by itself, using extra credits. The default is Report only, which asks you first. See QA testing.

Automated QA — Testing your app in real cloud browsers that click through it like customers, with a recording of every test. It uses credits and never starts without you. See QA testing.

Backend (tab) — Where you see and manage your app’s MonstarX Cloud: its database (read-only), users, files, emails, AI use, secrets and connected services. Only the project’s owner sees it. See MonstarX Cloud.

Boost — A one-off reset of every usage limit, for days when you build a lot: $10 on Plus and $30 on Pro, up to 2 a month. Free and Ultra have none. See Boosts.

Build — The work MonstarX does to make or change your app after a request: planning, writing code, setting up data and checking pages. See Follow a build.

Build it — The button on Projects that creates a new project and starts building it. With Plan first on it says Plan it. See Describe your app.

Build mode — The default mode: your request changes the app. See Modes.

Build this — A button under the latest Chat-mode answer: it switches to Build mode and builds what MonstarX proposed. See Modes.

Business tools — Your own accounts, such as Google Sheets, Jira or HubSpot, connected to one project for MonstarX’s builder to use while it works. Your app never gets these accounts. See Business tools.

Can edit — Access you can give someone you share a project with: they can send requests, edit code and restore versions. Their requests count against your plan. See Share and comment.

Can view & comment — Access that lets someone follow the project and comment on its preview without changing anything. Their workspace shows a View & comment badge. See Share and comment.

Chat (panel) — The left side of the workspace, where you send requests and follow what MonstarX does. See Tour of the workspace.

Chat mode — A mode for questions and discussion: MonstarX looks into your app and answers, but never changes it. See Modes.

Clip — A tool in the preview’s toolbar: drag a box around part of your app, and a picture of it goes into your message. See Clip.

Code (tab) — Every file of your app, in an editor where you can change and save them. See Code.

Coding agent — An AI tool that writes code on your own computer, such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. You can connect one to MonstarX and move apps between them. See Coding agents.

Comments — Notes that you and the people you share a project with pin to its preview, pointing at an element or an area. See Share and comment.

Connector — A link from your app to another service using your own account there, such as Stripe for payments or Twilio for text messages. See Connectors.

Continue — A button that builds whatever is still to do on the feature plan, for example after a request used all 40 steps one request can take. Everything built so far is kept. See The feature plan.

Credits — How MonstarX measures usage: one credit is one cent of AI work. Each request uses credits depending on how much work it takes and which model does it. See Usage and limits.

Custom domain — Your own web address, like yourbrand.com, for a published app. Buy one in MonstarX or connect one you own. See Buy a domain.

Danger zone — The last page of project settings, where you unpublish the app or delete the project. See Unpublish or delete.

Database — Where your app keeps its information, such as bookings, orders and sign-ups. Every app has its own, shared by the preview and the published app. See Your app’s database.

Demo account — A test user MonstarX creates after a build with sign-in, shown on the Demo account ready card, so you can try your app signed in straight away. See Follow a build.

Design first — A switch on Projects: before building, MonstarX shows three finished-looking first screens, and the one you pick sets the look of the app. See Design first.

Duplicate — Makes a copy of a project with the same code and settings, but without its chat, versions, data or published app. See The Projects page.

Edit mode — A way to change your app by pointing: click an element or draw around an area in the preview, and say what should change. See Edit mode.

Effort — How long a model thinks before it answers. Higher effort thinks longer and uses more credits. See Choose a model.

Export — Download your whole project’s code as a zip that runs on its own. See Export.

Feature plan — The checklist of features MonstarX writes for a new app or a bigger request, and ticks off as it builds them. It sits under Features at the top of the chat. See The feature plan.

GEO — Generative engine optimisation: helping AI assistants such as ChatGPT find and describe your app correctly. See SEO and GEO.

GitHub App — MonstarX’s app on GitHub. Installing it on your personal account (Connect personal GitHub account) is the easiest way to connect GitHub: no token, and you choose which repositories MonstarX can use. See GitHub.

GitHub (menu) — Saves your project to a GitHub repository; every change becomes a commit, and edits made on GitHub come back. See GitHub.

Ideas for what’s next — Features MonstarX suggests on the wrap-up card once everything on the plan is built. Add puts one in the plan; Build it builds what you added. See Follow a build.

Import — Bring something you already have into a new project: an app from GitHub, Lovable or a .zip, a Figma design, a website, a spreadsheet or your coding agent’s app. See Import an app.

Live — A published app, reachable by anyone at its address. On a project card, the Live badge means it is published. In the preview toolbar, Live means the preview is running.

Logs (tab) — What your app’s server printed while running in the preview, useful for tracking down errors. See Logs.

MCP — Model Context Protocol, a standard way for AI tools to talk to services. Coding agents connect to MonstarX through its MCP server, and you can give MonstarX’s builder extra tools by adding MCP servers to a project. See Coding agents and MCP connectors.

Model picker — The button in the prompt box that chooses which AI model does the work: Auto, or a model from the Fast, Lower cost, Standard or Premium group. See Choose a model.

MonstarX Cloud — The backend every app comes with: database, user accounts, email, file storage, AI, web search, maps and secrets, ready with no setup. See MonstarX Cloud.

Monstar Run — The little game under the status card in the preview, to play while you wait. Press Space to jump. See Follow a build.

More (•••) — On a phone, the sheet that holds everything from the computer’s top bar: Versions, Automated QA, GitHub, Share, Project settings, Report a bug and more. See Build on your phone.

Notifications — Alerts on your phone or computer when a build is done, has questions or stopped, or someone commented. Turn them on with Notify me or in Settings → Notifications. See Notifications.

Plan first — A switch on Projects: MonstarX asks a few questions about your idea before it builds. See Plan first.

Plan mode — The mode that asks you questions first, one at a time with suggested answers, and builds once you have answered. See Modes.

Premium models — The most capable and most expensive AI models: those that cost from $4 per million tokens in or $20 per million tokens out. Free has none, Plus a weekly allowance, and Pro and Ultra can use all their usage on them. See Plans and pricing.

Preview — Your app, running live inside MonstarX as it is built. Only you and the people you share it with can open it, and it uses the same database as the published app. See The preview.

Project — One app in MonstarX, with its code, chat, versions, data and settings.

Project settings — The project’s name, description, model, addresses, people, export, transfer and delete, under Settings in the top bar. See Project settings.

Projects page — Your home in MonstarX, with the prompt box for new apps and a card for every project. See The Projects page.

Prompt box — The box where you type a request: on Projects for a new app, and at the bottom of the chat inside a project. See Tour of the workspace.

Publish — Put your app on the internet at its own address. Republish updates the live app with your latest changes. See Publish your app.

QA — Quality assurance: checking that the app works. See Automated QA.

Queue — Build requests waiting their turn above the prompt box, under Up next. They start by themselves, one after another. See Keep working while it builds.

Refresh picture — Takes a new picture of your app for its card on Projects. See The Projects page.

Report a bug — Sends the MonstarX team a description of a problem with screenshots and useful details. Open Ask Luna and click Report a bug with screenshots, or on a phone use More → Report a bug. See Report a problem.

Request — Anything you send MonstarX from the prompt box: a new app, a change, a question.

REST API — Web addresses (endpoints) that let other software read and change your app’s data. Make them in Admin → APIs. See Your app’s REST API.

Restart (dev server) — A button in the preview’s toolbar that restarts the preview when it is stuck or out of date. See The preview.

Restore — Bring back an earlier version of your app’s code from Versions. Your app’s data is not changed. See Versions.

Saved copy — What the preview shows while it is asleep (after 20 minutes without use): the page as it last looked. The live app comes back as soon as you move, click or type. See The preview.

Secrets — Keys and passwords your app needs for other services, stored encrypted and never written into the code. See Secrets.

Security scan — A check of your app for security holes, with a score and one-click fixes, in the Security tab. See Security scan.

SEO — Search engine optimisation: helping Google and other search engines find your app. See SEO and GEO.

Share — Invite people by email to view and comment on a project, or to edit it with you. See Share and comment.

Shared — The badge on a project card for a project someone else shared with you. See The Projects page.

Social (tab) — Creates launch posts, ads, artwork and short videos about your app. See Social.

Stop — The red button in the prompt box that stops what MonstarX is doing and holds the queue. What was built so far is kept. See Keep working while it builds.

Thread — One request and everything that came of it, numbered in the chat. Older threads fold to two lines and can be searched. See Follow a build.

Transfer — Hand a project to another MonstarX account for good. See Transfer a project.

Unpublish — Take a published app offline. The project stays. See Unpublish or delete.

Usage limits — How much you can build: a 5-hour limit and a weekly limit that count at the same time, plus a weekly allowance for premium models. See Usage and limits.

Usage ring — The small ring and percentage beside Send that shows how much of your plan’s usage you have used. Click it for every limit. See Usage and limits.

Version — A saved copy of your app’s code, made every time the code changes — for example after a build, a save in the Code tab or a restore. See Versions.

View & comment — The badge people see in a project shared with them to look at and comment on. See Share and comment.

Workspace — The page where you work on one project: the top bar, the chat and the preview. See Tour of the workspace.

Wrap-up card — The card MonstarX shows when everything on the plan is built: what the app does now, whether QA has tested it, and Ideas for what’s next. See Follow a build.
