Use Instantly.ai with MonstarX
In shortCreate an Instantly API v2 key with read scopes and paste it into the Instantly.ai row in Backend → Cloud. MonstarX's builder can then read your workspace, campaigns, sending accounts and leads. It only reads — it never starts campaigns, sends email or changes leads.

Instantly.ai runs cold-email outreach: campaigns, the email accounts that send them, and the leads they go to. Connect it with an API key (a password-like code that lets software use your workspace) and MonstarX’s builder — the AI you chat with — can look into it while it works: see which fields your leads have before building a lead-capture form, or list your campaigns to plan a landing page for each.
This is a business tool: MonstarX reads Instantly for you. The app you build never gets your key.
What can MonstarX do with it?

What it never does: start, pause or edit campaigns, send email, add, change or delete leads, or touch your email accounts’ settings or warm-up.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- An Instantly workspace on an active paid plan — Instantly’s API refuses workspaces without one.
- You own the MonstarX project. Only the owner can connect or disconnect a tool.
Get your key
Section titled “Get your key”-
In Instantly, open Settings > Integrations and choose API Keys.

Click Create API Key and name it
MonstarX. -
Select read scopes:
workspaces:read(MonstarX checks this when you connect),campaigns:read,accounts:readandleads:read. Or chooseall:readfor read access to everything. -
Click Create and copy the key. Instantly shows it only once.

Connect it in MonstarX
Section titled “Connect it in MonstarX”-
Open your project and click Backend in the top bar, then Cloud.

Scroll to Connectors, find Instantly.ai and click Connect.

Paste the key into the API key field and click Connect.

MonstarX checks the key by reading your workspace. When it works, the row says Connected. If the key is refused or lacks
workspaces:read, you see the error and nothing is saved.
Ask MonstarX to use it

Security and privacy
Section titled “Security and privacy”- Stays with MonstarX. The key is stored encrypted on MonstarX’s servers. It is never written into your app’s code or given to your app.
- Read-only. MonstarX only reads. Give the key read scopes only, and even a leaked key cannot send or change anything.
- Read as information. Lead and campaign data is treated as information, never as instructions.
- Disconnect any time. Click Disconnect beside Instantly.ai in BackendCloud and confirm Disconnect Instantly.ai from this project?. MonstarX forgets the key. Delete it in Instantly too if you no longer need it.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Lead searches take up to 500 characters of search text.
- Instantly limits how many API requests a workspace makes. If MonstarX hits the limit, wait a moment and ask again.
- A key belongs to one Instantly workspace. To read another workspace, connect a key from that one instead.
Frequently asked questions
Section titled “Frequently asked questions”Can MonstarX send emails or start a campaign?
No. It can only read your workspace, campaigns, sending accounts and leads.
Why is my key refused?
Check that your workspace has an active paid plan and that the key has the workspaces:read scope (or all:read). Instantly's API refuses keys without them.
Can my app add leads to Instantly when someone signs up?
Not with this connection: the key is for MonstarX's builder only. For an app feature, add an Instantly key under Backend → Secrets and ask MonstarX to build it. See Store API keys safely.
