Use Shopify with MonstarX

In shortConnect Shopify in Backend → Cloud by typing your store's .myshopify.com address and signing in. MonstarX's builder can then look up your shop, products and orders in any mode. It only reads — it never changes your store — and your app never gets the connection.

Look up your store’s products and orders.

Shopify runs online stores. Connect your store to a project and MonstarX’s builder — the AI you chat with — can look at what you really sell while it works: plan a catalogue around your real product range and vendors, or a small dashboard shaped around your orders.

This is a business tool: MonstarX reads your store for you. The app you build never gets the connection.

Everything is read-only and works in any mode.

What MonstarX can do
Read your shop’s details — its name, .myshopify.com address and currency
Find products — up to 50 at a time, with Shopify’s own search (like title:mug or vendor:Bloom): title, handle, status, vendor and stock count
Read one product — the same details plus its description
Find orders — up to 50 at a time: order number, date, payment and fulfilment status, and total

What it never does: create, change or delete products, orders, customers, prices or stock, or change store settings. It asks Shopify only to read products and orders.

  • A Shopify store, and its .myshopify.com address. You find it in Shopify admin under Settings → Domains (it is not your custom domain).
  • A Shopify staff account that can install apps on the store.
  • You own the MonstarX project. Only the owner can connect or disconnect a tool.

There are no keys to copy. You type your store address, then Shopify asks you to install MonstarX with permission to:

  • View products — to find and read them.
  • View orders — to find orders.
  1. Open your project and click Backend in the top bar, then Cloud.

  2. Scroll to Connectors and find Shopify.

  3. Click Connect. Type your store address in Shopify store domain (like example.myshopify.com) and click Connect again.

  4. Shopify opens. Check what MonstarX asks for and install it.

  5. You come back to your project. The row now says Connected to and your store address.

You typeWhat happens
“Read my Shopify products and build a catalogue page grouped by vendor, with each product’s description.”MonstarX finds your products, reads their descriptions and builds the page.
“What are my unfulfilled Shopify orders this week?”It looks up the orders and answers.
“Which of my Shopify products are out of stock?”It looks at each product’s stock count and answers.
  • Stays with MonstarX. The store connection is stored encrypted on MonstarX’s servers. It is never written into your app’s code or given to your app.
  • One project. The connection works only in the project where you made it.
  • Read as information. MonstarX treats product descriptions and order details as information, never as instructions.
  • Disconnect any time. Click Disconnect beside Shopify in BackendCloud and confirm. MonstarX forgets the connection straight away. To remove MonstarX from your store too, uninstall it in Shopify admin under Apps.
  • MonstarX does not read prices, variants or product photos from Shopify. Add those to your app yourself, or ask MonstarX to build a feature that gives your app its own Shopify access.
  • Shopify normally shares only recent orders — the last 60 days — with apps.
  • A page MonstarX builds from your products is a copy made at build time. It does not stay in step with your store unless you ask MonstarX to build that into your app.
Can MonstarX change my prices or stock?

No. The Shopify connection is read-only. It can find products and orders, nothing more.

Where do I find my .myshopify.com address?

In Shopify admin, open Settings → Domains. It is the address ending in .myshopify.com, even if customers use your own domain.

Can my app sell through Shopify with this?

No. This connection is for MonstarX's builder only. To take payments in your app, see the connectors for your app.
