Let MonstarX use your business tools
In shortBusiness tools connect your own accounts — Google Sheets, Calendar, Docs, Slides, Gmail, Slack, HubSpot, Salesforce, Xero, Jira, Shopify, Figma and others — to one project, for MonstarX's builder to use while it works. It can read them in any mode and change them only in Build mode when you ask. Your app itself never gets these accounts.
Business tools let MonstarX itself — the AI builder you chat with — work with the tools your business already runs on. Connect your Google Sheets, and you can say “look at my Orders sheet and build a page for it”. Connect Jira, and you can say “create an issue for each thing QA found”.
This is different from connectors, which give your app a service such as Stripe for the people who use it. A business tool is for the builder, in one project. Your app never receives these accounts or their keys.
Which tools can I connect?
Section titled “Which tools can I connect?”You find them all in BackendCloud, in the Connectors list. There are two kinds.
Tools you sign in to. Click Connect, sign in on the service’s own page and allow access. You come back to MonstarX with the tool connected.

How do I connect a tool?
Section titled “How do I connect a tool?”-
Open your project and click Backend in the top bar, then Cloud.
-
Scroll to Connectors and find the tool.
-
Click Connect:
- For a sign-in tool, your browser goes to the service. Sign in, check what MonstarX asks to do, and allow it. For Shopify, type your store domain (like
example.myshopify.com) first. - For a key tool, paste the key and click Connect.

-
The tool now says who it is connected as — for example Connected as your Google email, or Connected to your Shopify store.
Only the project’s owner can connect or disconnect a tool.
What can MonstarX do once a tool is connected?
Section titled “What can MonstarX do once a tool is connected?”Ask in the chat and name the tool. For example:
- “Read the columns of my Leads Google Sheet and build a leads page that matches them.”
- “What did we decide in yesterday’s Granola notes about the booking flow? Build that.”
- “Create a Jira issue for each problem QA found.”
- “Draft a launch email and send it to sam@example.com from my Gmail.”
Reading works in every mode — Build, Plan and Chat. Changing something — adding rows, sending an email, posting to Slack, creating a task or an event — works only in Build mode, and MonstarX does it only when you asked for that exact change.
Is my data safe?
Section titled “Is my data safe?”- The accounts stay with MonstarX. Sign-ins and keys are stored encrypted on MonstarX’s servers. They are never written into your app’s code or given to your app.
- One project only. A tool you connect in one project is not available in your other projects. Connect it again where you need it.
- Read as information. MonstarX treats what it reads in a spreadsheet, an inbox or a CRM as information to work with, never as instructions to follow.
- Your tool’s own permissions still apply. MonstarX can only see what your account can see.
How do I disconnect a tool?
Section titled “How do I disconnect a tool?”Click Disconnect beside it in BackendCloud and confirm. MonstarX stops using it straight away and forgets the sign-in or key. You can also review the apps connected to your account in the service’s own settings.
What if my app should use one of these services?
Section titled “What if my app should use one of these services?”Business tools are only for the builder. If you want your app to, say, add rows to a Google Sheet every time someone signs up, ask MonstarX to build that feature. It will use a connector or ask you for a key in BackendSecrets, so the app has its own access.
Frequently asked questions
Section titled “Frequently asked questions”Is a business tool the same as a connector?
No. A connector such as Stripe gives your app a service for its users. A business tool gives MonstarX's builder access to your own account while it works on one project.
Can MonstarX send emails or post messages by itself?
Only in Build mode and only when you ask for that exact message. In Chat and Plan mode it can read your tools but not change them.
Why does a tool say Coming soon?
That tool is not available to connect yet. The key-based tools and the ones with a Connect button work today.
Do I have to connect my tools again for every project?
Yes. Each connection belongs to one project, so a tool you connect for one app is never used by another.
Do business tools use my plan's allowance?
Reading and changing your tools happens inside MonstarX's normal work on your request. Some services charge their own credits for certain actions, such as making a HeyGen video or running a Clay search.
