Connect Google Analytics to your MonstarX app

In shortGoogle Analytics counts your app's visitors, the pages they see and the actions they take. Create a GA4 property with a web data stream, paste its measurement ID (G-…) into Backend → Cloud and ask MonstarX to add analytics. Visits then show up in your Google Analytics reports.

Google Analytics is Google’s free tool for measuring a website: how many people visit, where they come from, which pages they read and what they do. Connect it and your app reports its visits to your own Google Analytics account (the current version is called GA4).

  • Visitor counts for every page, by day, country and device.
  • Where people come from: search, social media, an email campaign or another site.
  • Key actions as events, like “signed up”, “booked a class” or “added to cart”.
  • Conversions: how many visitors end up booking or buying.
  • A Google Analytics account. It is free.
  • A GA4 property for your app, with a web data stream for its address (like your-app.monstarx.app or your own domain).
  1. In Google Analytics, open Admin (the gear at the bottom left).

  2. Create a property for your app if you do not have one, then open Data streams and add a Web stream with your app’s address.

  3. Open the stream and copy the Measurement ID. It looks like G-XXXXXXXXXX.

  1. Open your project and click Backend in the top bar, then Cloud.

  2. Under Connectors, click Connect beside Google Analytics.

  3. Paste the ID into Measurement ID.

  4. Click Connect Google Analytics. The row shows Connected.

  5. Ask MonstarX: “Add Google Analytics to every page.” Then publish, so your live app reports too.

You typeWhat happens
“Add Google Analytics to every page.”Every page view is reported.
“Send a sign_up event when someone creates an account.”An event you can count and mark as a key event in Google Analytics.
“Track bookings as an event with the class name.”A booking event with the class, for reports by class.
“Show a cookie banner and only start analytics after people accept.”A consent banner; Google Analytics waits for a yes.
  • The measurement ID is public: it sits in your app’s pages, like on any site that uses Google Analytics. Nobody can read your reports with it.
  • Google Analytics sets cookies in your visitors’ browsers and sends their visits to Google. In many countries (the EU and UK, for example) you need visitors’ consent first, and your privacy policy should say you use it. Ask MonstarX for a cookie banner.
  • Only the project’s owner can connect, update or disconnect Google Analytics. After Disconnect, the app stops reporting; your past reports stay in Google Analytics.
  • Reports can take up to a day to fill in; Realtime shows visits straight away.
  • Your own visits count too, including in your preview. Google Analytics can filter out internal traffic if you want clean numbers.
  • Nothing is added to your app’s server: Google Analytics runs in visitors’ browsers.
Is Google Analytics free?

Yes, the standard version is free. MonstarX adds nothing.

Why do I see no visitors?

Check that you asked MonstarX to add analytics and published the app. Then open Reports → Realtime while you visit the app; ad blockers can hide your own visit.

Do I need a cookie banner?

In many countries, yes: Google Analytics uses cookies, so ask visitors first. Ask MonstarX to add a consent banner.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Add a web stream for your domain (or edit the existing one) — the measurement ID works on any address your app answers on.
