Use Figma with MonstarX

In shortConnect Figma in Backend → Cloud by signing in to Figma. MonstarX's builder can then read a Figma file from its link — its pages, frames and layers — and render chosen frames as pictures, in any mode. It never changes your files. To start a new app from a design, use the Figma button on Projects instead.

Figma is where many teams design their apps. Connect your Figma account to a project and MonstarX’s builder — the AI you chat with — can open a Figma file you link to while it works: match a new screen to the frame your designer made, read the exact texts and layer names, or get a picture of a frame.

This is a business tool: MonstarX reads your Figma files for you, in one project. The app you build never gets your Figma account.

MonstarX works with Figma in two different ways.

What MonstarX can do
Check who is connected — your Figma account
Read a file — its pages, frames and layers, a few levels deep (you give it the file’s link)
Read chosen frames or layers in detail
Read a file’s details — its name, when it changed and who edited it last
Render frames as pictures — PNG, JPG, SVG or PDF — and get a link to each

What it never does: edit, comment on, duplicate or delete a file, or change who it is shared with.

  • A Figma account that can open the file you want MonstarX to read.
  • You own the MonstarX project. Only the owner can connect or disconnect a tool.

There are no keys to copy. You sign in to Figma, and Figma asks you to allow MonstarX to:

  • Read your user profile — to show which account is connected.
  • Read the contents of files — pages, frames and layers, and pictures rendered from them.
  • Read file details — names and edit history.
  1. Open your project and click Backend in the top bar, then Cloud.

  2. Scroll to Connectors and find Figma.

  3. Click Connect. Figma opens. Sign in, check what MonstarX asks for, and click Allow access.

  4. You come back to your project. The row now says Connected to and your Figma handle.

Paste the file’s link (from Share → Copy link in Figma). A link to one frame points MonstarX straight at it.

You typeWhat happens
“Make the Settings page match this frame: https://www.figma.com/design/…”MonstarX reads the frame’s layers and texts, and changes your page to match.
“Use the exact button labels from the Checkout page of our Figma file.”It reads the layers and copies the texts.
“Which pages are in our design file, and when did it last change?”It reads the file’s details and answers.
  • Stays with MonstarX. Your Figma sign-in is stored encrypted on MonstarX’s servers. It is never written into your app’s code or given to your app.
  • One project. The connection works only in the project where you made it.
  • Read as information. MonstarX treats layer names and text in a file as information, never as instructions.
  • Disconnect any time. Click Disconnect beside Figma in BackendCloud and confirm. MonstarX forgets the sign-in straight away. To remove its access in Figma too, revoke it under Settings → Security → Connected apps in Figma.
Should I use this or the Figma button on Projects?

To start a new app from a finished design, use Figma on the Projects page — see Build a working app from a Figma design. To check or match designs while you work on an existing app, connect this business tool.

Can MonstarX change my Figma file?

No. The Figma connection is read-only.

Can it read files other people shared with me?

Yes, any file your Figma account can open. Paste the file's link in your message.
