Your app's free address

In shortYour published app lives at a free address like lotus-flow-yoga.monstarx.app, made from the project's name the first time you publish. Change it in Settings → Address & domains — 3 to 40 lowercase letters, digits and single dashes. The live app keeps its old address until you publish again, so nothing goes offline.

Every app you publish gets a web address of its own under monstarx.app, for free — for example lotus-flow-yoga.monstarx.app. It is yours for as long as the project exists. You can change the first part (the bit before .monstarx.app), and you can put a domain of your own in front of it too.

The first time you publish, MonstarX makes the address from the project’s name — “Lotus Flow Yoga” becomes lotus-flow-yoga — unless you already picked one in Settings. After that it stays put:

  • Renaming the project never moves it, so links you have shared keep working.
  • It is also your app’s email address. Emails your app sends (sign-up confirmations, receipts) come from <address>@monstarx.app, and that follows the address when you change it.
  1. Click Settings in the workspace header and choose Address & domains.

  2. In App address, type the new address. MonstarX turns capitals into lowercase and spaces into dashes as you type.

  3. Wait a moment: MonstarX checks it. A green note such as lotusflow.monstarx.app is free. means you can have it. A red note says why you cannot.

  4. Click Change address.

  5. If the app is already online, click Published in the header, then Republish, to move it to the new address.

What else is on the Address & domains page?

Section titled “What else is on the Address & domains page?”
  • Preview address — the temporary address of the preview while you build. Only you and the people you shared the project with can open it, and it changes when the preview restarts.
  • App address — the free address described on this page.
  • Published app — whether the app is Live, Publishing, Last publish failed, Taken offline or Not published yet, with its address and when it was last published.
  • Domains — buttons to buy a domain or connect one you own, and any domains already pointing at the app.
Is the monstarx.app address free?

Yes. Every published app gets one at no cost, with HTTPS.

Does my old address keep working after a change?

Until you publish again, yes: the live app keeps answering at the old address. When you publish, it moves to the new one.

Will renaming my project change the address?

No. The address is set the first time you publish and never follows a rename. Change it in Settings → Address & domains if you want a new one.

What happens to my own domain if I change the address?

Nothing. Bought and connected domains point at the project, not at its monstarx.app address, so they keep working.

Can I remove monstarx.app from the address completely?

Yes — give the app a domain of its own. See Buy a domain or Connect a domain you own.
